Happy Friday Night Worms! Let’s chat about book to screen adaptations? I’ve had this on my mind since I read THE OUTSIDER by Stephen King. I still haven’t watched the series and I’m not sure if I will because I’m scared it will ruin the boom for me (can you tell I liked that one?).

With the upcoming series THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR on the horizon, I want to rewatch THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE. I loved the novel it’s based on by Shirley Jackson and the show is killer. The creators did a great job. And those same creators adapted Henry James’ THE TURN OF THE SCREW for the previously mentioned THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR (watch party, anyone?).

Some other book to screen adaptations I’ve loved have been Jaws (obvs), The Ruins, Annihilation, It, American Psycho and The Strain. There have been tons of great adaptations. With the ongoing global pandemic, reading the book and then watching its adaptation from the comfort of your own home is a great way to practice social distancing. So put on your comfy pants (or no pants at all), get comfy, pick your book and it’s adaptation and have a safe weekend, Worms!
