Happy Friday Night Worms! I finished up Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z. Brite (who now identifies as Billy Martin, but is known professionally as Poppy Z. Brite) the other day and if you know a single thing about me at all, you probably know that I love gross, gory, disturbing and unnerving books. You guys, I’ve found it (shout out to my fellow Night Worms blogger Keely for suggesting it to me). This book is not for the faint of heart or those with weak stomachs. It’s grim but it’s beautiful. The characters, for the most part, are deeply troubled and massively disturbed. The writing is strong and descriptive. It’s the perfect book to read curled up under a blanket while your pumpkin spice scented candle burns beside you. Get as cozy as you can, because this book will make you uncomfortable.
