Night Worms Get Savage: Mega Review Round Up!

Night Worms Get Savage: Mega Review Round Up!

The Night Worms Review Team loves to come together around a book. SAVAGES by Greg F. Gifune was a happy accident. I shared Matt's photo of SAVAGES to our group chat with a "Hey, this cover, huh?? Wow!"
And then Matt talked about how this was one of his favorite books and before you know it, we're all buying it and agreeing to read and review it as a big group.

So here we are! It's about that time. ~Sadie Hartmann

White is for Witching

Helen Oyeyemi

Miranda Silver has pika, an eating disorder that compels her to eat foreign objects (chalk, in Miranda’s case). Kallie & Matt's Side By Side Review of HEX by Thomas Olde Heuvelt

Kallie's Review:

The town of Black Springs is exactly the kind of town you would want to move to in order to get away from city life. It’s surrounded by beautiful forests and has that wholesome small-town feel. The youths of Black Springs want out. They want to do away with hundreds of...

Mindi & Kallie's Side by Side review of THE BEAUTY by Aliya Whiteley

Mindi's Review:

I really don't want to give away too much of this story. It's unique and somewhat disturbing. I realized that I'm so used to typical gender roles that a number of things that happen in this book made me really uncomfortable. And that's incredibly disappointing to me. Gender, now more than ever, is becoming less of an issue in society, but when you take the typical male and female roles and completely switch them, it's amazing how quickly I became uncomfortable. That tells me that perhaps society...

Tav's Review of FULL THROTTLE by Joe Hill

Full Throttle by Joe Hill

This is a thick collection of thirteen short stories from Joe Hill. A few of the stories are new and just for this collection where he references some of his favorite writers.  My average rating for these stories is 3.3 stars, which is a kind of disappointing considering how much I love Joe Hill. I just think his talent is better suited to longer stories and maybe his dad should stick to short stories.

The collection begins and ends with a story co-authored...
